Control your Home Assistant devices by voice with the HomeDash Alexa skill, approved by Amazon. It's included free with both Hosted Home Assistant and HomeDash Connect – not a paid extra.

You choose what Alexa sees. Nothing is shared until you add it in your HomeDash account. Add devices one at a time, or use Select all. Remove all takes everything away again in one go. When you switch something on or off at home, the Alexa app shows the change straight away.

We email you a link to set your password when your service starts. Can't find it? Use Forgot password? on the account sign-in page.
Choose your devices
In your HomeDash account, open your home and add the lights, switches, sensors and other devices you want Alexa to control.
Enable the skill
Search for HomeDash in Skills in the Alexa app, enable it and sign in with your HomeDash account. Then choose your home and tap Allow Alexa.
Discover devices
Say “Alexa, discover devices” and your chosen devices appear in the Alexa app.
HomeDash Connect customers: your home needs the HomeDash Bridge add-on version 0.3.1 or later. Add the repository addons.homedash.uk in Home Assistant, then install or update HomeDash Bridge.
Stopping is easy: select Unlink Alexa in your HomeDash account, or disable the skill in the Alexa app. Alexa loses access straight away.

FAQ
What is HomeDash Connect vs hosted?
Hosted Home Assistant means we run HA for you in the cloud – ideal if you want zero servers at home. HomeDash Connect is for people who already have a Home Assistant Green or home server: you keep HA at home, and we provide a secure remote URL, nightly off-site backups and health monitoring without port forwarding.
Does HomeDash work with Amazon Alexa?
Yes. The HomeDash Alexa skill is approved by Amazon and included free with both Hosted Home Assistant and HomeDash Connect – it isn't a paid add-on. You choose which devices Alexa can see in your HomeDash account, and changes at home show up in the Alexa app straight away. To set it up, search for HomeDash in Skills in the Alexa app, enable it and sign in with your HomeDash account, then say "Alexa, discover devices". Connect customers need HomeDash Bridge 0.3.1 or later. You can unlink Alexa at any time from your HomeDash account.
How do I sign in to my HomeDash account?
When your service starts we email you a link to set your password. If you can't find it, or forget your password later, use Forgot password? on the account sign-in page at panel.homedash.uk/account/login and we'll email you a new link.
What hardware does HomeDash Connect run on?
The HomeDash Connect add-on runs on Home Assistant Green, Intel/AMD PCs, Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 (64-bit) and older 32-bit Raspberry Pis.
Is my data private?
Your Home Assistant instance runs in its own isolated container on UK-based servers, with its own encrypted storage. We never sell your data, we don't look inside your instance without your permission, and you can export a full backup or delete everything at any time. We act under UK GDPR.
What happens if my internet connection drops?
Your Zigbee devices keep working locally: switches, buttons and many automations paired directly between devices carry on. The cloud dashboard and cloud automations pause and resume automatically when your connection returns, picking up exactly where they left off. If you need fully offline automations, we can supply a Home Assistant Green that runs everything in your home, with the cloud used for remote access and backups.
Do I keep local control?
Yes. With a Home Assistant Green you have full local control, with HomeDash adding remote access, backups and dashboards on top. With the Dongle-M, devices connect through a secure, encrypted tunnel, so nothing is exposed to the internet and you never need to open ports on your router.
Do I need to open ports or have a static IP?
No. Remote access works through an outbound encrypted tunnel, so there's no port forwarding, dynamic DNS or static IP needed.

Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Hosting is monthly or annual with no long contract and no setup fee. Cancel whenever you like, and take a full backup of your instance with you.
